LNG as fuel news

Crowley has awarded Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) a contract for the charter of four new-build containerships powered by LNG.

Chantiers de l’Atlantique has chosen Gasum as expert supplier of LNG bunker fuel and technical adviser to perform the initial bunkering of the first LNG fuelled cruise vessel built in its premises.

The framework agreement will give Keppel access to the LNT A-BOX technology and is a precursor for projects that Keppel is working on where the IMO type A tank can be integrated into vessels.

A dual-fuel LNG shuttle tanker ordered by Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers AS, which is an affiliate of NYK, was delivered on 30 August at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd.

The vessel was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and was delivered on 2 August.

Denis Bonhomme has joined the TotalEnergies Marine Fuels team, and will oversee all commercial and operational activities for the business’ marine fuel solutions portfolio.

The tanker will run on LNG/LBG and will be built at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou, China.

The companies have signed an MoU with the aim of establishing LNG bunkering services in Egypt Mediterranean, the Suez Canal, and the Red Sea.
