Excelerate Energy Development DMCC has announced that it has carried out the 100th ship-to-ship (STS) LNG transfer at the Engro Elengy Terminal (EETL) in Port Qasim, Pakistan.

The company’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), Exquisite, has now transferred over 14 million m3 of LNG at EETL, and has discharged more than 320 million Btu of natural gas into Sui Southern Gas Co.’s natural gas pipeline system.

In July this year, the vessel reached another milestone by receiving the 100th LNG cargo ever imported into Pakistan. EETL is the first LNG import terminal in Pakistan, and was developed to help alleviate the nation’s energy shortages. Since its commissioning in March 2015, the terminal has been able to reduce the country’s power deficit by approximately 20%.
