Qatargas has announced that it has delivered the first Q-Max LNG cargo under a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) between Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. Ltd – 3 (Qatargas 3) and PTT Public Co. Ltd.

The cargo was delivered via the Bu Samra Q-Max LNG vessel to the Map Ta Phut LNG receiving terminal in Thailand. It was the first Q-Max vessel to arrive at the terminal since it started up in 2011, when Qatargas delivered the first commissioning cargo to Map Ta Phut, which is Thailand’s first LNG receiving terminal. Since then, the company has provided PTT with approximately 9 million t of LNG, most of which has been delivered via Q-Flex vessels.

In December 2012, Qatargas 3 and PTT signed an SPA to provide 2 million tpy of LNG for a 20-year period, commencing in 2015. This SPA marked PTT’s first long-term LNG SPA, as well as Qatargas’ first long-term agreement in South-East Asia.
