Polskie LNG has released a statement claiming that it has successfully received its 50th LNG cargo delivery at the Swinoujscie terminal in Poland.

This latest delivery was for 130 000 m3 of LNG. In addition to this, Polskie LNG claims that two tender procedures are underway. The aim of the first procedure, which was announced in December last year (the deadline for submitting offers was extended to 19 February), is the selection of the contractor for the following three key components of the onshore expansion program:

  • Extra regasification installation, which will increase the nominal regasification capacity of the terminal to 7.5 billion Nm3/yr.
  • A third LNG process storage tank, which will increase the nominal regasification capacity of the terminal to 7.5 billion Nm3/yr.
  • An LNG-to-rail transhipment installation, which will extend the range of services provided with the possibility of natural gas transhipment onto ISO containers and rail tankers, and therefore reaching new possible customers.

According to the statement, the tender process includes signing the contract with the chosen contractor by the end of this year. Polskie LNG claims that reaching the target capacity of 7.5 billion Nm3/yr is planned in 2021. The other two projects are reportedly scheduled for completion in 2Q23. The LNG terminal expansion program will be implemented under the ‘design and build’ formula.

According to the statement, the second tender procedure, which was launched on 2 January 2019, pertains to the offshore development of the facility (i.e. the construction of an additional jetty). The latter project is implemented in collaboration with the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority. In that tender procedure, the offers are due by 26 February this year.

Polskie LNG claims that the new jetty will allow for the provision of new crucial services at the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie, including methane carriers loading and unloading, LNG transhipment and loading LNG bunkers, as well as bunkering service.
