According to Reuters, it is expected that Russia’s first LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) will dock at the port of Kaliningrad today.
The Marshal Vasilevskiy will reportedly be installed at the port by Gazprom in a effort to bypass pipeline gas deliveries through Lithuania in case of any disruptions to the gas transit.
According to Reuters, the unit travelled from Singapore with an LNG cargo on board, but no additional deliveries are expected to arrive. This is reportedly because gas flows via Lithuania are stable and its is not as expensive to receive gas by the pipeline.
