PGNiG set to receive 50th LNG cargo

According to the statement, once this cargo has been delivered, the total volume of LNG purchased by the company so far will total 5.7 billion m3 after regasification.
PGNiG claims that this latest cargo will be delivered by the Iberica Knutsen carrier, which will transport approximately 57 000 t of LNG from the Sabine Pass terminal in the US. According to the statement, the cargo was purchased as part of a spot transaction from Naturgy.
Maciej Wozniak, Vice-President of PGNiG Management Board for Trade, said: “Spot transactions is the task of our office in London. Our traders search for favorable market opportunities, thus completing our LNG portfolio. LNG is significantly rising in the PGNiG import structure. In 2018, its share has already exceeded 20%, and our ambitions for 2019 aim even higher.”
At the end of last year, the company claims that it signed four long-term contracts for the purchase of LNG from the US. Deliveries from one of the US partners – Cheniere Energy – will begin this year.
