RasGas delivers 500th LNG cargo to Edison

The cargo was delivered under the long-term sales and purchase agreement (SPA), which was signed between Edison and Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Co. in November 2003, for 4.6 million tpy of LNG.
The 500th cargo was delivered via RasGas’ Al Areesh LNG tanker on 1 July 2017. It was received at the Adriatic LNG terminal, which is located in the northern Adriatic Sea, approximately 15 km off of the Veneto coastline in Italy.
Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, the CEO of RasGas, said: “We are very proud to have delivered the 500th LNG SPA cargo to our long-term partner and customer, Edison. This is a milestone delivery that underlines RasGas’ continued commitment to the safe and reliable supply of LNG to all of its customers worldwide.”
Marc Benayoun, the CEO of Edison, added: “The 500th LNG SPA cargo is further evidence of the excellent relationship and long-term partnership between RasGas and Edison, which started more than 14 years ago with the signing of the Long-Term LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement and the construction of the offshore LNG receiving terminal.”
