New LNG receiving terminal to be built in China

The project will be constructed in Wenzhou of Zhejiang province. It will include four tanks, each of which will be capable of storing 200 000 m3 of LNG. It will feature a berth to dock tankers from 30 000 to 266 000 m3 in capacity. It will also feature a 26 km long pipeline. The first phase is reportedly set for operation at the end of 2021.
According to Reuters, both companies have now launched Zhejiang Zheneng Wenzhou LNG Co. Ltd, which is 51% owned by Zhejiang Group, 41% owned by Sinopec, and 8% owned by a local investment firm.
Reuters reports that this latest project will be the fourth LNG receiving terminal developed by Sinopec. It follows three similar-sized facilities in Qingdao, Beihai and Tianjin.
