Adriatic LNG has announced that it is relocating its shore base within Porto Viro, Italy.

The shore base will be moved from Via Stradonazzi to Via Cristoforo Colombo in Porto Viro, and will cover an area of over 50 000 m2. The structure is a modern aero-marine station and will improve the company’s logistics.

In the statement, the company claims that the base will be able to aggregate all of the activities concerning the transport of goods and people to and from the terminal by boat and helicopter. It will provide more space not just for the offices, but also for the warehouse, which will cover an area five times larger than the current one. In addition to this, by being closer to the coastline, the journey time to the terminal will also be reduced.

A heliport (operating 24 hours a day) will allow people to travel from the base to the terminal by helicopter in just eight minutes. The take-off and landing area is also available to the local community in case of health emergencies or when assistance is required.

The Adriatic LNG terminal has been in operation since Autumn 2009, and secures more than 10% of Italy’s national gas consumption.
