Cheniere expects to reach substantial completion of third LNG train in 1H21

According to Reuters, Cheniere Energy Inc. has said that it expects to reach substantial completion of its third liquefaction train at its Corpus Christi LNG plant in Texas, US, earlier than expected in 1H21.

Previously, Reuters reports that Cheniere had said it expected to complete the train in 2H21.

According to Reuters, Cheniere has also said that it expects to complete the sixth train at its Sabine Pass LNG plant in Louisiana in 1H23. The company stated at that Corpus 3 was approximately 68.6% complete, whilst Sabine 6 was about 38.1% complete.

Each train at Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi is capable of liquefying approximately 0.7 billion ft3/d of gas.

According to Reuters, Jack Fusco, Cheniere Chief Executive, has also told analysts that the company is planning to make a final investment decision to construct Corpus Stage 3 (seven mid scale LNG export trains at Corpus, capable of liquefying 1.25 billion ft3/d of gas) in 1H20. This would reportedly enable the facility to enter service in 2023.
