Tango FLNG fully commissioned and accepted by YPF

According to the statement, the performance acceptance tests have been successful, and the first cargo has been offloaded and will be exported out of Argentina.

With this first shipment, EXMAR claims that the startup of the FLNG unit has been completed in record time, following the contract signing in November last year, and delivery acceptance of the unit in Bahia Blanca in February this year. The achievement of this milestone has been made possible due to the cooperation between EXMAR and YPF.

The delivery of the first 25 000 m³ LNG cargo from the Vaca Muerta shale gas reserves marks Argentina’s transition into an LNG exporting nation.

Nicolas Saverys, EXMAR’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “For EXMAR, the successful performance test in Bahia Blanca confirms the technical capabilities of the Tango FLNG. Tango FLNG is the first FLNG operating in the Americas and this historic milestone clearly proves EXMAR’s front runner position for cost competitive and quick-to-market floating liquefaction solutions.”

In the statement, EXMAR claims that the unit has been generating earnings since early last month, and is expected to be fully on stream after the Argentine winter season.
