KBR awarded pre-FEED contract for phases 2 and 3 of Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project

KBR has released a statement claiming that BP has awarded KBR’s UK operating subsidiary the pre-FEED services contract for phases 2 and 3 of BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project, for the further development of the Tortue field beyond phase 1.

The field is located at the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal. The next phases of the project will significantly expand capacity to deliver additional gas from an ultra deepwater subsea system, tied back to mid-water gas processing platforms. The gas will then be transferred to pre-treatment and offshore LNG facilities located at the established phase 1 hub.

Jay Ibrahim, KBR President, Energy Solutions – Services, said: “We are proud to be part of this groundbreaking project which will deliver LNG revenues and gas to Africa for decades to come.

“This win demonstrates KBR’s strategic commitment to our partner BP to deliver an innovative and cost-effective deepwater gas value chain together.”
