Venture Global LNG Inc.’s subsidiaries Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LLC, and TransCameron Pipeline LLC, have submitted a joint application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) pursuant to Sections 3 and 7 of the Natural Gas Act.
The application comes after 11 months of engagement with FERC and other government agencies under the National Environmental Policy Act’s pre-filing process, and seeks authorisation to site, construct, and operate:
- The proposed natural gas liquefaction and export terminal at Calcasieu Pass, Louisiana, US.
- TransCameron Pipeline’s two proposed natural gas pipeline laterals that will connect the Calcasieu Pass LNG terminal to the US natural gas grid.
Venture Global Co-CEO, Robert Pender, said: “Our final application submittal to FERC and the other federal and state agencies marks a significant milestone in our company’s development and brings us closer to our goal of delivering LNG to global buyers beginning in 2019.”
“We are dedicated to becoming one of the lowest-cost providers of LNG in the world, and today’s announcement represents yet another significant step in that direction,” added Venture Global Co-CEO Michael Sabel. “This is an exciting time for both Venture Global and our global LNG customers.”
