FERC approves Placquemines LNG pre-filing request

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice granting Venture Global Plaquemines LNG LLC’s request to begin the pre-filing review for the proposed Placquemines LNG project.
Plaquemines LNG plans to construct a 2800 million ft3/d LNG export facility. The project would include three new natural gas feed pipelines connected to nearby existing natural gas pipeline networks in southeastern Louisiana; 20 liquefaction trains, each with a capacity of approximately 140 million ft3/d; four LNG storage tanks; three marine loading berths for ocean-going vessels; and on-site power generation. The LNG project would be located just south of Myrtle Grove, Louisiana, in Plaquemines Parish.
Plaquemines LNG has announced its intention to file an application for the LNG project in February 2016.
