TAL is responsible for coordinating and assembling the necessary infrastructure chain to produce US LNG. This LNG will then be marketed by the broader Toshiba group to key regions, including Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.
To facilitate this role, TAL will reportedly be one of five tolling customers at the Freeport LNG project, which is located in Quintana, Texas, US. In addition to this, Toshiba has also entered into a pipeline capacity agreement with an affiliate of Enbridge Corp. in order to bring US natural gas to the Freeport LNG facility and with Gulf LNG for tug services. Over the next few years, TAL will enter into a number of other arrangements in order to facilitate the delivery of US LNG.
Takayuki Shibano, who joined Toshiba in 1987 as an engineer, has been appointed President and CEO of TAL. Cheryl L. Roberts, meanwhile, has been appointed Senior Vice President and CFO. Finally, Veldanda (V.V.) Rao has been appointed Senior Vice President and COO.
