Gaseous Fuel Systems Corp. (GFS) has announced that it has received an order to convert an entire fleet of Caterpillar 785 trucks to LNG fuel at an unnamed mine in the US. The company claims that the trucks are expected to be in operation by late January 2017.

GFS’s new EVO-MT® 7850 and EVO-WL™ 9920 LNG retrofit systems will join the company’s existing product line-up, which includes NG+D® systems for Caterpillar 777 and 793 as well as Komatsu 830 and 930 haul trucks. The EVO-WL™ 9920 is the company’s first LNG solution for wheel loaders. The first such system will be operational in early 2017, with systems for other wheel loaders scheduled to be released in 2H17.

The President and CTO of GFS, Jason Green, said: “The 785 is a very common model of haul truck, used in mines in many parts of the world where LNG is readily available and diesel costs are relatively high […] We are excited to be able to add these new systems to our product offerings.”
