Chart commissions French natural gas vehicle fuelling station

Chart has announced that it has successfully commissioned a new natural gas vehicle fuelling station at Fos-sur-Mer, France.

The in-house engineered and built facility features two LNG dispensers and one CNG dispenser, ensuring that it is capable of fuelling all natural gas vehicles.

Owned by Proviridis and operated by V-GAS – part of the Proviridis group – it is an important first step in the group’s planned regional network, and will soon be supplemented by a Chart sister station scheduled to be operational by the end of 2017.

The station includes several Chart proprietary features, including ‘Saturation on the Fly’ for optimal heat management, culminating in a facility that is safe, reliable and available 24/7/365. Like all Chart fuelling stations, it has been engineered without the need for venting, meaning zero product loss to the atmosphere.

Although designed to be unmanned, V-GAS is initially supervising the station during the early stages in order to familiarise people with its layout and operation. The complete fuelling process – including payment – takes approximately 5 minutes in ideal conditions.
