Bangladesh due to resume LNG imports

LNG Industry,

According to Reuters, Bangladesh will soon resume its normal LNG importation activities, having resolved some issues with its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

Due to the issues with a hydraulic line that operates an emergency shutdown valve onboard its FSRU, the country recently cancelled two LNG deliveries which had been scheduled for 7 November and 15 November.

However, Mohammad Quamruzzaman, managing director of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Co, the unit in-charge of LNG imports at state-owned oil firm Petrobangla, recently announced that “The problem with the hydraulic line has been resolved now.”

Bangladesh’s next LNG shipment is due to arrive on 21 November. The operation will involve a quantity of 140 000 m3 of LNG.
