Gazprom hoping to renegotiate LNG supply deal with Gail

According to Reuters, the CEO of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, has said that the company is looking to renegotiate an LNG supply deal with India’s Gail (India) Ltd within the coming six months.

Miller reportedly said: “We will make a decision in the near future, in the course of six months.”

Reuters claims that Miller went on to say that both companies are reportedly in talks regarding a change to the period in which Gail has to increase its offtake to 2.5 million tpy of LNG, as agreed to in an earlier contract.

Nonetheless, Miller claimed that the 2.5 million tpy volume would not change.
