LNG Industry,

Gas Natural Fenosa has opened an LNG regasification plant that will supply natural gas to the towns of Polop and La Nucía (Alicante) from the start of 2015.

The regasification module was opened by the Director-General for Energy of the Regional Government of Valencia, Antonio Cejalvo, the Mayor of Polop, Gabriel Fernández, the mayor of La Nucía, Bernabé Cano, and the Managing Director of Gas Natural Cegas, Roberto Cámara.

Regasification module

By building this LNG regasification module, Gas Natural Fenosa will bring a natural gas supply to both towns while a more permanent gas pipeline is built. Gas Natural Cegas has invested €616,000 in this regasification module, which has been installed on the Pau de Polop industrial estate, where the adjacent city already receives a natural gas supply.

The company expects to be supplying both towns by early 2015. The first stage will consist of bringing a natural gas supply to approximately 1125 homes and businesses in La Nucía and over 1000 homes in Polop.

Gas Natural Cegas

Gas Natural Cegas, GNF's natural gas distributor in the Region of Valencia, has been operating in the region for more than 160 years, where it has over 644,500 supply points and a distribution network of over 7800 km. The company currently supplies natural gas to 195 towns and cities in the Region of Valencia.
