According to the statement, the change reflects the company’s plans to maximise the efficiency of its operations and to enhance its position during a difficult time for the maritime industry.
The shipyard, located in the United Arab Emirates, will continue to build newbuild steel and aluminium vessels, and provide ship repair services to both marine and oil and gas customers in the Middle East.
The Managing Director of Albwardy Damen, Lars Seistrup, said: “Bringing both brands together is a logical next step for us.
“We aim to be the best regional shipyard for building and repairing niche tonnage, and with our expansion in Dubai we are positioning ourselves in the best possible way to serve our clients in the region during these challenging times.”
