Petronas concludes LNG contract extension with China’s JOVO Group

Malaysia’s Petronas has announced that it has concluded a contract extension with JOVO Group Co. Ltd. Petronas claims that this will help strengthen its LNG market presence in China. JOVO is the owner and operator of the Dongguan LNG terminal, which is located in Guangdong, South China.
Petronas claims that the contract extension will see the stable increase of LNG supply to JOVO until at least 2023. Petronas has already successfully delivered partial cargoes into Dongguan, as well as conventional cargoes to Yangshan and small vessels to Shanghai Wuhaogao and Hainan Macun.
Ahmad Adly Alias, the VP of LNG Marketing & Trading, Upstream Petronas, said: “Petronas is dedicated to ensuring that our buyers’ requirements for stable and competitively-priced LNG supply are met. The extension of this contract proves that Petronas appreciates the Chinese culture of working together and understands what it takes for Chinese LNG buyers to grow and succeed in this market. We were here from JOVO’s infancy in the LNG market, and we will be here to support them to grow further.”
