LNG Industry,
According to Reuters, Asian LNG spot prices have experienced a 10% slide this week to a more than three month low. A decline in oil prices to 2018 lows has been sighted as the primary cause of this development.
LNG spot prices for January deliveries to North Asia were last estimated to be approximately US$10 per million Btu. This is 90 cents lower than estimates for the last few weeks.
Experts have noted that temperatures in Asia’s major cities will be higher than usual in the coming weeks, therefore prices are unlikely to see a demand driven increase in the immediate future.
