GTT to equip new Hyundai Heavy Industries LNG carrier with containment system

Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) has announced that it has received an order from Hyundai Heavy Industries to equip a new LNG carrier with its Mark III Flex containment system.

The 180 000 m3 vessel will be built at Hyundai’s shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, on behalf of Norwegian shipping company NORSPAN LNG XI AS (Knutsen). Knutsen is a longstanding owner of LNG carriers featuring membrane technology, and has 10 vessels of this type.

Philippe Berterottière, the Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: “We are very pleased with the excellent cooperation we have with Knutsen and Hyundai Heavy Industries. We are proud to be associated with this new project.”

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2019.
