The LNG dual-fuel vessel departed Gdansk, Poland, earlier in February 2017, and is expected to arrive in Panama in approximately two weeks, although this will depend on the weather. BC Ferries claims that the voyage is going well according to the crew.
The company will take final acceptance and ownership of Salish Eagle upon final inspection once the vessel arrives in British Columbia (B.C.), Canada. Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. is responsible for delivering the vessel to B.C., and has contracted with a professional international ship delivery specialist. Some BC Ferries crewmembers are on various legs of the voyage for training and familiarisation.
