Risco Energy Solutions, a Risco Energy company, has signed an exclusive agreement with Chart Industries, Inc. for providing LNG equipment – such as storage tanks, ISO containers, trailers, mobile equipment, and fuelling stations – to support the rapidly growing Indonesian gas-to-power infrastructure needs.

“This agreement shows Risco’s commitment in continuing to support the Indonesian energy infrastructure sector. We look forward to building and developing more assets for Indonesia’s power and industrial customers,” says Risco Energy’s Managing Director, Ken Sauer.

“Chart’s local partnership with Risco Energy will enable the Indonesian region to have access to affordable, sustainable and environmentally friendly natural gas fuelled solutions,” says Chart’s CEO, Jillian Evanko.

The agreement comes as a response to the Pertamina and PLN plans to grow gas power and infrastructure across the island nation. Chart’s equipment components will allow Risco to meet such growing power demands and offer total distribution packages to their gas customer base. Risco is an active gas infrastructure provider to PT Perta Gas Niaga, a subsidiary of the Pertamina Group. Risco has planned to purchase hundreds of logistic support tanks and large volumes of ground storage tanks from Chart over the next 24 months to meet the customer needs.

“PTGN has cooperated with Risco since 2018 to supply gas infrastructure for PLN requirements in Kalimantan, Central and Eastern Indonesia. This agreement will further support PTGN and RISCO’s plans to continue working on developing more gas-to-power projects for PLN, industrial private sector, fuel conversion projects and smelters. Together we hope to meet the needs of the government growing demands for power across Indonesia,” says PTGN’s President Director, Linda Sunarti.

“Risco has been operating LNG logistic facilities in Sambera, East Kalimantan, and has conducted LNG deliveries to Papua. In the first year of operation at Sambera, there were zero incidents (LNG spills) and Risco has delivered over 1 million btu of LNG to PLN. Risco-Chart collaboration enhances Risco’s ability to provide total turnkey LNG infrastructure solutions to meet Indonesia’s gas to power demand,” says Risco Gas Infrastructure’s Director, Aditya Pratama.
