Qatar supplements pipeline outage with LNG

Reuters is reporting that after the Dolphin pipeline experienced a multi-day outage last month, Qatar supplemented its gas supplies to the UAE with LNG.
Dolphin is a major natural gas pipeline supplying 2 billion ft3/d of gas from Qatar’s North Field to the UAE. The project is owned by Dolphin Energy Ltd, which is subsequently owned by Mubadala (51%), Total (24.5%) and Occidental (24.5%).
The multi-day outage in April was due to a major failure which resulted in a shutdown of all facilities. This event significantly impacted the UAE’s gas supplies.
During the shutdown, Qatar Petroleum assisted Dolphin Energy by shipping repair materials. The company also supplemented the decline in gas supplies by delivering LNG to the UAE.
