GasLog Ltd has announced that it has appointed Bruno Larsen as head of floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) development. Larsen has previous experience in both the LNG and FSRU sectors, and will take the lead in the company’s commercial FSRU activities. He has previously served in senior roles for WorleyParsons, BW Offshore, Hamworthy, Hoegh LNG and Total.
Larsen said: “I am delighted to join GasLog, one of the leading LNG transportation companies in the world. GasLog has the technical expertise and the platform to become a leading player in the FSRU market and I am excited around the future opportunities for the company.”
Currently, GasLog is looking at various FSRU opportunities, and is carrying out a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore. This study will focus on the possibility of converting the company’s (and GasLog Partners LP’s) steam and tri-fuel diesel electric LNG carriers into FSRUs.
The CEO of GasLog Ltd, Paul Wogan, added: “We are very happy to welcome Bruno to GasLog to lead our FSRU development. He brings a wealth of experience and joins us at an exciting time in the development of the FSRU market. Given the significant volumes of new LNG production due to come online over the next few years, we expect FSRU’s will play an increasingly important role in creating new markets for LNG. Bruno’s knowledge and experience will further enhance GasLog’s capabilities as we move into this growing sector of the market.”
