ABB Turbocharging has announced that it has signed a long-term maintenance management agreement with Dynagas Ltd. The contract will cover all of Dynagas’ tri-fuel diesel electric (TFDE) vessels: Arctic Aurora; Yenisei River; Lena River; Clean Planet; Clean Ocean; Clean Horizon; and Clean Vision.

ABB Turbocharging will schedule in advance the regular servicing of the turbochargers for a period of three years. This will ensure the operational reliability of all 42 of the turbochargers that are in use on Dynagas vessels.

ABB Turbocharging will also provide information to Dynagas on the condition of the turbochargers. The agreement will include an annual budget plan, advance service recommendations, a single point of contact, including access to over 50 worldwide service locations. ABB Turbocharging’s fully managed services will help Dynagas significantly reduce its operating costs and maximise application engine uptime.

John Smyrneos, the ABB Turbocharging Manager for Greece and Cyprus, said: “We are proud that Dynagas Ltd has chosen to benefit from the advantages that an ABB Turbocharging MMA service agreement can offer. This agreement designates us as a reliable partner to our customer, enabling optimisation of turbochargers’ lifecycle and offering first class maintenance services."

Christos Vlachos, the Technical Manager of Dynagas Ltd, added: “Through this contract we can work even closer with ABB Turbocharging. It signifies the reliable services that ABB Turbocharging can offer for predictive maintenance.

“We believe that with ABB’s industry knowledge, full-service support and transparency we will be able to achieve increased turbocharger efficiency with minimal downtime, greater predictability in our maintenance budget plan and reduced operating costs.”
