Goltens to retrofit BWT systems on two BP Shipping gas carriers

Goltens has announced that it has won a contract for the engineering and retrofit installation of OceanSaver ballast water treatment (BWT) systems on board two of BP Shipping’s gas carriers.

The two vessels to be retrofitted are the 138 000 m³ LNG vessels, British Innovator and British Merchant. Goltens will begin the engineering and prefabrication work in 2017, and will complete the installation services in 2018.

The Chief Operating Officer of Goltens Worldwide, Roy Strand, said: “We look forward to working closely with BP and applying our well-proven process to the retrofit of these two gas carriers in the most efficient manner.”

ClassNK issues AiP to Nihon Shipyard and Hankuk Carbon

ClassNK has issued an approval in principle for a spray form insulation system of IMO Type B tank for LNG and ammonia fuel developed by Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd and Hankuk Carbon Co., Ltd.
