LNG Industry,
DNV GL has released a statement claiming that it has initiated the next phase of the LNGreen project, which will seek to develop a state-of-the-art, next generation LNG carrier. This will build on the lessons learned from the first phase of the joint development project, in order to improve the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of the concept. DNV GL expects the project to be complete by the end of 2016.
The project partners include Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), GasLog, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and DNV GL. All parties have agreed to continue to cooperate and contribute towards the project.
Daniel Nordås, the DNV GL Project Manager, said: “The fact that all partners have agreed to contribute to continued innovation is a confirmation of the achievements in the first project and a proof of the positive cooperation between leading players in the industry.
“The mutual trust built over the course of the first project also forms a solid base to drive innovative solutions to the market for the benefit of builders, owners and operators.”
