MMA Offshore has announced that Woodside Energy Ltd has awarded it a contract, with a value of approximately AUS$50 million.

Under the contract, MMA will provide three vessels, which will serve in Woodside’s AusOil, Northwest Shelf, and Pluto LNG assets.

Whilst the contract is for a firm period, it also includes a number of additional options. The total contract value, should all of the options be exercised, would be approximately AUS$110 million.

The vessels will include two MMA Offtake Support Vessels (OSVs) – the Mermaid Strait and the Mermaid Sound – and a high specification Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) – the Mermaid Leeuwin.

Jeff Weber, the Managing Director of MMA, said: “The significance of the contract in the current competitive market cannot be overstated. There is enormous pressure on the offshore marine industry to achieve sustainable cost positions without compromising quality operations. The award of this contract is an endorsement of our ability to support world-class operators in this challenging economic time and to provide cost effective solutions. Our focus on providing specialist vessels, innovative technical solutions and reliable safe operations remains a competitive advantage in the offshore marine industry. We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Woodside in the North West.”
