LNG Industry,

JAXPORT has announced that two 260 t cryogenic LNG storage tanks have been securely fastened onto their foundations at Crowley Maritime Corp.’s new shore-side fuelling facility at the Talleyrand Marine Terminal in Jacksonville, Florida, US.

The tanks were delivered to the facility from Hamburg, Germany, by the Moonstone BBC chartering vessel. Stevedores from port partner Seaonus loaded the tanks onto a specialty 26-axle trailer for transport to their permanent location at the terminal.

The tanks are owned by Eagle LNG, and will provide fuel for Crowley’s Commitment Class vessels. These ships are some of the world’s first combination container roll-on/roll-off (ConRo) vessels powered by LNG, and will serve in the Puerto Rico trade lane.
