Nigerian ports LNG throughput increases 23%
In the first half of 2014, a total of 2719 ocean going vessels called at all Nigerian ports, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
This represents an increase of 12% over the 2013 figure of 2427 vessels.
Cargo throughput
Cargo throughput stood at 41,317,962 million tonnes, showing an increase of 15.4% over 35,812,858 tonnes achieved in 2013.
LNG shipments stood at 10,418,248 tonnes, a growth of 23% over 8,462,535 tonnes in H1 2013.

The Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority, Habib Abdullahi, explained that the present management will remain focused and consistent in its effort to achieve its vision to be the leading port in Africa by rehabilitating port infrastructure, engaging in constant dredging of the channels and implementation of sound financial policies.
