Chevron temporarily stops production unit output at Gorgon LNG

LNG Industry,

According to Reuters, Chevron has temporarily stopped output from one of its two production units at the Gorgon LNG project in Australia. Chevron has not indicated how long the shutdown will last.

A spokeswoman for the company reportedly said that production from Train 1 has been halted in order to “assess some recent performance variations”, adding that “Train 2 production is unaffected, and we continue to produce LNG and load cargoes."

Reuters claims that trading sources have indicated that Chevron is now looking for three prompt LNG cargoes.

This latest news follows Reuters reports in mid-November 2016, which claimed the project was undergoing restart operations, following a temporary shutdown.
