GE to provide maintenance services to TMS Cardiff Gas’ LNG fleet

Under the terms of the agreement, GE will provide maintenance services to the TMS fleet’s electric propulsion system, including providing parts to the propulsion motors, medium voltage drives, generators and switchboard. In addition to this, it will also upgrade the vessels’ propulsion automation systems to improve their remote and diagnostic capabilities.

The four vessels feature electric propulsion systems provided by GE. The service agreement will also include training for personnel operating the equipment. In addition to this, the TMS fleet will feature a Visor remote monitoring system. This is able to provide operators with vessel health status, and will help to identify possible issues that will impact the ability to provide the diagnostic service. This digital software is crucial to assisting GE’s field service engineering in quickly assessing the potential root cause of the failure, and recovery paths to carry out fast and effective service during unscheduled downtime.
