According to the latest Reuters report, Bangladesh is currently seeking expressions of interest for the development of the country’s first onshore LNG import terminal.

This announcement was made in a document released by Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Co, a unit of Petrobangla. The document outlines the request for interest from developers for the construction of facilities to receive LNG, and deliver regasified LNG on a build-own-operate-transfer basis to Bangladesh’s national grid.

In a recent statement, the managing director of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas, Mohammad Quamruzzaman, described the construction of a land based LNG in Bangladesh as now being the company’s “top priority”.
