Bangladesh seeking interest for the development of an onshore LNG terminal

According to the latest Reuters report, Bangladesh is currently seeking expressions of interest for the development of the country’s first onshore LNG import terminal.

This announcement was made in a document released by Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Co, a unit of Petrobangla. The document outlines the request for interest from developers for the construction of facilities to receive LNG, and deliver regasified LNG on a build-own-operate-transfer basis to Bangladesh’s national grid.

In a recent statement, the managing director of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas, Mohammad Quamruzzaman, described the construction of a land based LNG in Bangladesh as now being the company’s “top priority”.
