According to Reuters, Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas – the state-owned Lithuanian gas trader – has signed an LNG supply deal for 2017 with the trading arm of Koch Industries – Koch Supply & Trading. In 2016, Lithuania’s only gas suppliers were Statoil and Gazprom.
The CEO of Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas, Mantas Mikalajunas, said: “The gas can be delivered from various places, including from the US.”
Reportedly, the deal foresees deliveries of 2 million MWh of LNG, and will cover one-third of the Lithuanian company’s requirements next year.
A spokesman for the company added: “We are in negotiations with other suppliers of LNG and pipeline gas for 2017 deliveries, including Russia's Gazprom."
