Following approximately 10 months of construction, South Korean engineering company, GAS Entec, has announced that it has successfully delivered a 50 million ft3/d floating regasification unit (FRU). The contract for the unit was awarded in early 2015 by Pelindo Energi Logistik (PEL).
The FRU will be installed at Benoa Port, Bali Island, Indonesia in late March 2016, and is expected to provide approximately 1000 tpd of gas to a local power plant (following a successful final performance test).
The construction was ordered to Kangnam Corp. (KNC). An official from the company said: “We are currently overwhelmed by many incoming inquiries from all around the world and this small/mid scale FRU is greatly expected to rise as a new business model for future market demand.”
