ExxonMobil announces LNG Power Play Awards finalists
Published by Lydia Woellwarth,
ExxonMobil has officially announced the finalists for the 2020 LNG Power Play Awards. This awards programme, created to shine a light on the women and men making a difference in the LNG industry, as well as encourage inclusion and collaboration, is split into three award categories: The Rising Star Award, The Vanguard Award, and The Rainmaker Award.
Each submission was evaluated by a panel of eight international experts from across the LNG value chain. After careful consideration, four finalists have been selected for each category of the Power Play Awards. Though all the submissions were impressive, these finalists embody the characteristics of their chosen award category.
The finalists by category are:
The Rising Star – presented to an outstanding female professional, age 35 or younger
- Mervin Azeta, Schlumberger, Nigeria.
- Capt. Iro Gidakou, Maran Gas Maritime, Cyprus.
- Zeynep Harezi, Karpowership, Turkey.
- Tian (Ivy) Liu, CNOOC, China.
The Vanguard – given to a male or female professional who displays outstanding leadership
- Noora Ali Al-Kahrji, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar.

The community vote will represent a percentage of the final score. Community voting will begin on 27 July and will close on 7 August. To cast your vote, visit ExxonMobil’s website.
Presented by ExxonMobil LNG Market Development Inc., the Power Play Award winners will be announced in September.
