King & Spalding advise on Elba LNG EPC contract

King & Spalding has announced that it has advised Elba Liquefaction Co. LLC and Southern LNG Co. LLC on the development of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the expansion of the Elba Island LNG facility.
Elba Liquefaction and Southern LNG are both subsidiaries of Kinder Morgan. The facility is located near Savannah, Georgia, US, and, when expanded, will be able to produce 2.5 million tpy of LNG. It will also be capable of exporting LNG.
The value of the transaction was announced on 5 April 2016, but was not disclosed. IHI E&C International will be the project contractor.
