LNG2019 has released a statement claiming that the heads of the big three Chinese energy giants will address the opening ceremony of the event.

According to the statement, this is the first time the world’s largest LNG event has been held in China, and this is the only event where the industry will be able to see all three Chairmen on stage together this year.

The confirmed speakers are Hua Yang, Chairman of China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), Yilin Wang, Chairman of CNPC, and Houliang Dai, Chairman of Sinopec. In addition to this, other confirmed speakers from China include Dinan Huang, Chairman of Shenergy Group, Yalan Li, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Beijing Gas Group, Guobiao Ye, Chairman of Shanghai Petroleum Gas Exchange (SHPGX), and Alfred Chan, Managing Director of The Hong Kong & China Gas Company (Towngas).

Mr Zhehong Wang, Executive Chairman of the National Organising Committee of LNG2019 and Deputy General Manager of Shenergy Group, said: “With China still the fastest growing LNG market and a country destined to shape the 21st century, it’s fitting that LNG2019, the only LNG event owned by the industry, run for the industry, should be held in Shanghai. With the heads of China’s three energy giants now confirmed to speak, LNG2019 is the must-attend event for anyone with an interest in the future of the industry.”

LNG2019 claims that the leaders of China’s energy companies join 240 international speakers who will take to the stage over a four-day period. The event has been formally approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China and is supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. It attracts 11 000 professionals from across the globe. LNG2019 will be held on 1 – 5 April 2019 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, and brings together the heads of the world’s leading energy companies, including Exxon Mobil Corp., Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron Corp., Total and Gazprom, as well as China’s big three to map the future of this industry, highlight key industry trends and discuss emerging issues, such as digitalisation, diversity and sustainability.

According to the statement, the full conference programme is now available on LNG2019’s website, featuring nearly 40 plenary speakers, including the CEOs of the world’s major LNG players, as well as more than 160 speakers in the technical, commercial, spotlight and LNG forum sessions, along with the research and innovation showcase.
