LNG Industry,
HIMA has announced that its burner management systems (BSMs) have been delivered to Amec Foster Wheeler. The systems will protect three steam generators at INPEX’s LNG facilities near Darwin, the Northern Territory, Australia.
The three BMS units (six CPUs) are based on redundant HIMax® systems, and will be interconnected with a distributed control system (DCS) through the Modbus interface. Each of the systems has 350 I/Os, forming a total of 1050 I/Os.
HIMA claims that commissioning and additional services will be executed by the company’s workers in Australia, whilst the company’s Houston, Texas, US office will provide the BMS design, engineering and integration. The company estimates that commissioning of the system will occur in 2017.
HIMA claims that the HIMA SILworX® programming tool and TÜV tested and approved function blocks will help to accelerate the BMS application programming. It also claims that application errors can be reduced and the engineering process can be sped up by copy-and-paste programming.
