Iran and South Korea to cooperate on mini-LNG container development

National Iranian Gas Co. (NIGC) has announced that two consortia from Iran and South Korea have signed a technological agreement to cooperate in the development of mini-LNG ISO containers in the coming four years.

The Korean consortium is reportedly managed by Oceanus Co., and comprises KITECH Research Institute, KOGAS Tech, GS E&C, Sung-Il Encare, DongHwa Entec and KGS companies.

The Iranian consortium, meanwhile, is managed by NIGC and comprises of the LNG Institute of Tehran University (ILNG) and the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI), as well a number of manufacturing and executive engineering companies.

NIGC claims that the agreement was signed at Oceanus headquarters in Busan, South Korea, on 8 June 2017.
