LNG-fuelled Salish Orca wrapped in art decal

The vessel is now covered in the artwork of Darlene Gait, a Coast Salish artist. Ampco Grafix of Coquitlam, British Columbia (B.C.), Canada – a large format graphics printer – produced the decal.
The Vice President of Engineering at BC Ferries, Mark Wilson, said: “Besides the incredible artistic imagery that the wrap provides, it also has valuable maintenance properties by protecting the coating on the vessel.
“This has been aptly demonstrated by the decals on the Coastal Class vessels.”
The Salish Orca is scheduled to depart Poland in Autumn 2016 using its own power. It will sail by the Canary Islands, through the Panama Canal and up along the west coast of North America. The vessel is expected to arrive in B.C. by the end of the year.
