LOC Group has announced that it has been awarded a contract by LNG Canada to provide marine warranty surveyor (MWS) services and vessel quality assurance for the project.

According to the statement, LOC will oversee the transportation of over 200 modules, which will be shipped from fabrication facilities in Asia to the construction site in Canada.

Ewan Browell, LOC Canada Managing Director, said: “We are very pleased to be working on the LNG Canada Project. LOC has a strong track record of working on projects of this scale and considerable expertise with marine operations for onshore construction projects. We continue to be at the forefront of the global MWS industry and we look forward to achieving further success in 2020.”

The LNG Canada project includes a liquefaction plant, utilities and storage facilities, as well as marine offloading and shipping facilities. Once construction is complete, the facility will become Canada’s first LNG terminal to export LNG overseas. It is located in Kitimat, approximately 650 km northwest of Vancouver.
