Update: meetings in Japan formalise Alaska’s relationship with Kyoto

Recently, it was announced that the Alaskan Governor, Bill Walker would attend a number of meetings in Japan to discuss the potential for LNG for the Japanese market.
In the latest meetings, Walker met with Yasuo Fukuda – the Governor of the Kyoto Prefecture and former Japanese Prime Minister – and the Chief Executive of Marubeni Corp. Following these meetings, the Alaskan Governor’s cabinet has revealed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between both parties, formalising Alaska’s relationship with Kyoto.
Walker is also due to meet with the CEO and President of the single largest corporate buyer of LNG in the world – Korea Gas Corp. In addition to this, he is scheduled to give a speech at an LNG conference in Tokyo.
