LNG Industry,
The MoU was signed between Gabadi S.L., Shanghai Aojiheng Offshore Engineering Technology Service Co. Ltd and China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd. Antonio Hermida (CEO of Gabadi), Sam Xin (General Manager of Aojiheng) and Yao Rulin (General Manager of CMHI (JS)) jointly signed the MOU.
Aligned with the product strategy of its parent company China Merchants Industry Holdings Co. Ltd, CMHI (JS) has decided to choose LNG projects as one of its core businesses. Currently, CMHI (JS) has an order of one 45 000 m3 LNG carrier with Type-A tanks under construction. The company’s aim is to gradually expand its business to include LNG carriers, LNG bunkering vessels, floating LNG (FLNG), floating storage units (FSUs), floating storage regasification units (FSRUs), etc., in combination with GTT’s membrane cargo containment system.
Further to the collaboration that China Merchants is undertaking with GTT, CMHI (JS) chose Gabadi – an outfitter licensed by GTT – and Aojiheng – the sole agent of Gabadi in China – jointly as strategic construction partner. Both Gabadi and Aojiheng are currently developing a Chinese entity to meet market demand. The signing of the MoU will help to establish cooperation between all three parties.
The statement claims that cooperation with Gabadi and Aojiheng enables CMHI (JS) to shorten the way to enter the LNG market with the GTT membrane cargo containment system. Meanwhile, each of the three parties will take the opportunity to seize the potential market opportunities, in order to achieve mutual benefits and new development.
