McConnell Dowell has announced that it has been awarded a contract by PT Saipem Indonesia (PTSI) for work on the BP LNG Tangguh Expansion Project.

The work is set to commence immediately, and will involve the construction of a bulk offloading facility, the LNG and condensate loading jetty, pipelines and new wellhead platforms. In addition to this, the existing onshore Tangguh Brownfield site will be redeveloped.

Onshore works will include an additional liquefaction train, an onshore receiving facility (ORF), a new LNG and condensate loading berth, additional boil-off gas (BOG) recovery, utilities, flares and other supporting infrastructure.

Murray Dundas, Managing Director – South East Asia, said: “This development will capitalise on our extensive working relationship with Indonesia, which spans more than 40 years.

“We are a company who value, understand and adhere to international safety expectations and who deliver outstanding engineering and construction results for our customers. This BP LNG Expansion project for PT Saipem will be no exception."

Scott Cummins, CEO, added: “We’re looking forward to starting this project, which will support our regional business and further strengthen our relationship with PT Saipem.”

The work is expected to be completed in early 2019.
